Did you know that LOHN was founded by two engineers?

Before launching LOHN, we (Vic and Kat) studied chemical engineering! Our education began in chem labs and continued in the beauty space, where we learned the ins-and-outs of formulation, manufacturing, and perfumery.

You can read more about our journey from university to entrepreneurship in this post, but today we thought we'd talk a little bit more about our mission.

When we were building LOHN, we knew wanted to do more than make scents. Don't get us wrong, we love getting in the studio and to formulate scents and create candles we want to burn all day long. At the same time, we want to make sure that our work can give back. We loved our time at school (or at least most of it), and feel it's our duty to help encourage girls and women to try their hand at STEM. There are endless opportunities with an engineering degree and our winding path is just one example! 

LOHN offers internships to STEM students and tries to work with women in STEM whenever possible. As we grow, we hope to offer more opportunities to encourage girls to pursue STEM and support students on their journeys!
