We use a blend of essential oils, natural fragrances, and clean synthetic fragrances that are paraben free, phthalate free and preservative free. The use of these ingredients allow us to create a more complex scent with a stronger scent throw than a 100% natural scent. We are working on a 100% essential oil candle collection that will be out later this year, stay tuned!
We hand blend our scents and all of the ingredients are regulated to very high standards by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA). We’ve worked in the cosmetics industry for years and we are passionate about sharing our knowledge.
T, M, B, stands for top notes, middle notes and base/bottom notes. Perfume notes (ingredients that make up a scent) are classified into top, middle and base notes, according to their relative volatility, their rate of evaporation. Top notes are the most volatile, middle notes diffuse more slowly, and base notes are the most lasting.
As your candle burns, or as your perfume oil wears on your skin, you can smell the different notes in the scent. Top notes first and base notes last.
LOHN candles are made with clean scents, an organic coconut and soy wax blend, a non-toxic cotton core wick and recyclable packaging. Every candle is vegan, paraben free, phthalate free, cruelty free & non-toxic.
We designed our cartons and glasses so that you’ll want to reuse them for whatever you’d like. It’s really easy to reuse your candle glass, wipe out the wax, use a spoon to pry out the wick base and then wash it out with soap and water. Ta da! You’ve got a new glass that can be used for anything.
Our coconut and soy wax blend is phenomenal, trust us, we’ve tested all the waxes. The 7.5 oz candles burn for 50 hours and the 3 oz candles burn for 20 hours.
The best way to make your candles last is to blow them out only after the wax melts to the glass edge, burn them for no more than 3 hours at a time, keep the wick centered and wax free of debris, trim the wick to ¼” before each lighting.
Make sure to burn your candle on a stable, heat-safe surface away from drafts and flammable materials. When it's burning, keep your candle in sight, away from children and pets. During use, the glass may become warm so allow it to cool before handling it.
As the temperature changes from warm to cold and back again, you might start to notice spots on your candle glass. These are known as wet spots and are caused when the wax cools and separates from the glass. Not to worry, this is totally normal and will go away when your candle is lit and the wax warms up.
Of course you can! We highly encourage this. We designed our glasses so that you’ll want to reuse them for whatever you’d like. It’s really easy to reuse your candle glass, wipe out the wax, use a spoon to pry out the wick base and then wash it out with soap and water. Ta da! You’ve got a yourself a cocktail glass, a toothbrush holder, or a vase for your flowers or plants.

We suggest rolling them on pulse points like your neck, chest, and wrists. They’re designed to be portable, so you can carry them with you and reapply throughout the day.
Cleopatra used to rub her mouth with perfume before she kissed a lover, so that the scent would make them think of her after they parted. P.S. we don’t suggest trying this.
All of our products are made in Toronto. We try to work with local suppliers when possible to minimize our carbon footprint.
